Pierre Floriano, PhD is a seasoned leader with 23 years of experience in translational research developing, validating and translating technologies in the medical device space at leading academic settings such as the University of Texas at Austin, Rice University and MD Anderson Cancer Center. Pierre most recently served as lead clinical strategist in a startup as VP Clinical Science at NeoTherma Oncology, and was responsible for pre-clinical and clinical development activities. Successful pre-clinical studies led to "breakthrough device" designation by the FDA for NeoTherma Oncology's medical device intended for use in the adjuvant treatment of pancreatic cancer.  Pierre worked with NeoTherma Oncology’s executive leadership and engineering team, the FDA and a contract research organization to secure an investigational device exemption (IDE) and served as Study Director in a first-in-human early feasibility study.

Native of Besançon, in the region of Franche-Comté in France, Pierre serves on the board of La French Tech Houston, which fosters collaboration and connection between French companies in the local Texas innovation ecosystem.
